The primary purpose of B. task-oriented behaviors is to ensure that people, equipment, and other resources are used in an efficient way to accomplish the mission of a group or organization. Task-oriented behaviors are the opposite of relationship-oriented behaviors. Task-oriented prefers to focusing on what is needed to maintain goals and performance standards. Relationship-oriented will put the focus on making sure relationships are being build and then goals being met.

These actions are in the task-oriented behaviors category. Task-oriented is “doing whatever it takes to get the job done.” The approach tends to be autocratic and emphasizes completing tasks required to meet organizational goals.
