Let the less expensive scarf be x

expensive scarf = $3 + x

According To The Question,

x+x+$3=$25

2x+$3=25

2x=22

x=$11

expensive scarf = x + $3 = $11 + $3 = $14

Answer:

$14

Explanation:

Sony paid for two scarves = $ 25

We are given that one scarf cost $3 more than the other

Let the cost of one scarf be x

So, cost of another scarf = x+3

Since the total cost is $25

So,
x+x+3=25

2x+3=25

2x=22

x=(22)/(2)

x=11

So, cost of one scarf = $11

Cost of another scarf = x+3=11+3=14

Hence the cost of the expensive scarf is $14
