It is important to think about your digital footprint. What can a potential employer find out about you online? Most people think the less an employer can see, the better. I think a blank slate tells an employer I don't know or do anything. I want to be posting about work I am doing and things I am learning so they can see what interests and knowledge I have. I want employers to see I am curious, ambitious and a fast learner. I can do this if I build a digital portfolio and share it online. I can also do this by being active on social media and online forum discussions about the area I hope to work in someday. Employers see I am learning and can interact with people. This is a lot better than "hiding" my stuff so they can be suspicious of what I am doing, or think I am so inexperienced I don't know anything.
