Since it is a square, all side lengths will be equal. Thus, we can assume that since the equation to find area is wl or width*length, we can simply multiply 18 by 18.
18*18=324
The area of the painting is 324 inches.

To find the area of a square, you multiply the side length by itself. So, multiply 18 feet by 18 feet to get 324 square feet.
