I'm in a March Madness Competition for Math, and I really need to win, so if you could help, that would be great! Since I got this question wrong, I need to do another one like this again to get a point, so a good explanation would be nice, but is optional. (Yes I actually like looking at the explanation :))

the rule is that for every output (x) the input (y) goes down by 1, (for every x that increases y goes down by 1 to help clear up what I said)
