Women and minorities were an important part in World war 2, and had important roles based on that (Minorities served in the military). African Americans filled various roles; enlisting in the military, serving as pilots, nurses, and administrative workers. Moving north to fill jobs. Native Americans often fought in combat and faced racial tensions. Many Mexicans fought in the war while others came to work on farms or jobs similar. Women took many jobs as men were serving (which is where the famous poster "We can do it!" came from). Japanese Americans were placed into internment camps such as Manzanar while few were serving in the war. Minorities were also code talkers. As help was neededin the war, minorities were called to serve signaling a fight against both Fascism and racism.
