You will most likely not be thinking straight. Probably no emotions if your extremely ill. But if you were diagnosed with leukemia you wouldn’t go insane, you might be depressed? Most Cancer patients are happy and living their lives normally mentally.

Answer:

A serious illness can leave mental and emotional functioning impaired.

Step-by-step explanation:

Severe diseases that interfere with the aggressive and difficult treatment of the organism can interfere with the mental and emotional functioning of the individuals in a bad way, compromising the psychological state of the people.

This is because in such a situation, individuals feel hopeless, often have negative thoughts about their health and little willpower. They may develop mental disorders such as depression, anxiety, panic syndrome, among others. They may also develop difficulties in concentration and logical reasoning, among other factors.
