Decomposers are organisms that gets energy by breaking down the remains of dead organisms or animal wastes and consuming or absorbing the nutrients. Organism "feed" by chemically breaking down organic matter. Examples: bacteria and fungi.
Scavengers are animals that consume carcasses of other animals that have been killed by predators or have died of other causes. Example: vulture.
Consumers are organisms that rely on other organisms for energy and nutrients. An organism that obtains energy and nutrients by feeding on other organisms or their remains.
