Answer: There is 5 non blue sock in Josh's drawer

Explanation:

The denominator shows the total of nonblue and blue socks. So there are 7 non-blue and blue socks in the drawer after he removes 3 non blue socks. To find how many non-blue where in the drawer originally you need to find how many non blue are in the draw after removing the three. So you subtract 7 from 5 which gives you 2. So there are 2 non-blue socks in the drawer after removing the three. Now you need to find how many non-blue were there before he removed the three. So add the 3 non blue socks that he removed to the two that were there after which gives you five.
