Read the passage closely.

At school everyone made fun of the thick black-bread
sandwiches the Duvitch boys ate for lunch. And the girls
stared and pointed at their boiled-out, ragpickers' clothes,
obviously salvaged from the dump on the outskirts of town.

Which best identifies the effect of the author's use of hyperbole in "The Strangers That Came
to Town"?

AIt makes the story funny.

B It helps the reader visualize the author's prejudices against the Duvitch family.

C It makes the story more exciting and adventurous.

D It makes the language more confusing to the reader.

Please choose carefully.

I think it would be B because many at school made fun of them because of the black bread sandwiches the duvitch boys ate for lunch. As well as their clothes being described as,"boiled-out ragpickers' clothes''. Hope this helps! Have A great day reader.
