Ratio of cats to dogs is 4:5
There are 20 dogs.
4:5=x:20
(5)(4)=20
(4)(4)=16
Answer: 16 cats
You can find the number of cats by using proportion.

5 x D = 40
divide both sides by 5 and D= 8
5 x 8 =40
4 x 8 = 32
