The large mean tells us that there is a greater variability in the data i.e. the data is spread out which leads to the larger deviation of the data points from the mean of the data.

Hence, the larger MAD tells that there are swimmers whose age are much more than 10 and hence the deviation from mean will be more and hence leads to larger MAD.
