1. What is the slope of the line that contains the points (0, –8) and (4, 1)?

2. What is the slope of the line that contains the points (4, –4) and (7, –6)?

The slope is the change in Y over the change in X.

1. Slope = (1 - -8) / (4-0)

Slope = 9/4

2. Slope = (-6 - -4) / (7-4)

Slope = -2/3
