so we need to find the length of each side

since its a square there is 4 sides

perimeter is all the sides added up

Answer: 144 in^2

Explanation:

The perimeter of a square can be calculated with the formula:

P=4s

Where s is the side lenght.

Solve for s:

s=(48in)/(4)\\s=12in

Use this value to calculate the area of the square with the following formula:

A=s^2\\A=(12in)^2\\A=144in^2
