Answer: X=6.5 cm

In order to understand the question and find the solution, let's use the figure attached.

In this figure is shown the triangle with its three sides, where the value of the third is unknown.

We can divide this triangle into two right triangles (figure attached) and use trigonometric functions to find the unknown side in each one:

For Triangle 1:

Is a triangle with sides
6,
L and
X_(1). We can use the sine trigonometric function to find side
X_(1):

sin(30\º)=(OS)/(H) (1)

Where
OS is the opposite side to the angle and
H the hypotenuse

Substituting the values:

sin(30\º)=( X_(1))/(6cm)

X_(1)=6cm.sin(30\º)

X_(1)=3cm (2)

For Triangle 2:

We will use the same procedure, nevertheless, in this case the opposite side is
X_(2) and the hypotenuse is 7 cm:

sin(30\º)=( X_(2))/(7cm)

X_(2)=7cm.sin(30\º)

X_(2)=3.5cm (3)

Adding both values:

X_(1)+ X_(2)=X

We finally find the value of the third side of the whole triangle:

3cm+3.5cm =6.5cm

For triangle ABC with AB=6cm, BC=7cm and BAC=60◦, CA= x cm Please show me the process-example-1
