For this case we must simplify the following expression:

(x + 2) (x + 6)

Applying distributive property we have:

(a + b) (c + d) = ac + ad + bc + bd

x ^ 2 + 6x + 2x + 12

By grouping similar terms we have:

x ^ 2 + 8x + 12

So, we have to:

(x + 2) (x + 6) = x ^ 2 + 8x + 12

Answer:

x ^ 2 + 8x + 12
