Answer: The sales tax would be $2.40

Explanation:

Another way of writing any percent would be diving that percent by 100, so 3% would be 0.03 4% would be 0.04 and so forth.

All you have to do is multiply 80 by the decimal of the percent

80 * 0.03 =2.4 or $2.40
