5 {v }^(2) - 5v - 100 \\ = 5( {v}^(2) - v - 25) \\ = 5({v}^(2) + 4v - 5v - 20) \\ = 5[v(v + 4) - 5(v + 4)] \\ = 5(v - 5)(v + 4)

Taking v-5 as common, we have
