What’s the non-permissible value for x^2-x-2

Answer:

x = -1 and x = 2 are non-permissible

Explanation:

for rational equations, the denominator can't equal zero, so find the zeroes of the equation, those will be the non-permissible numbers...

take the denominator and set it equal to zero, then solve...

x² - x - 2 = 0

(x - 2)(x + 1) = 0

so

x - 2 = 0

x = 2

and

x + 1 = 0

x = -1

Either of these values make the denominator equal zero, so they are not part of the domain of the function (non-permissible numbers)
