1/4 x 3 = 3/4

9 potatoes = 3/4 teaspoon of pepper

Find the number of groups of 3 potatoes there are:

9 potatoes / 3 = 3

For each group of 3 you need 1/4 teaspoon, so now multiply 1/4 by 3:

1/4 x 3 = 3/4 teaspoons are needed.
