Explanation:

The complementary angles can be expressed as x and 90-x degrees.

So we have the equation:

x - (90 - x) = 55.8

x - 90 + x = 55.8

2x = 55.8 + 90 = 145.8

x = 145.8 / 2

= 72. 9 degrees

So each angle is 72.9 degrees and 90 - 72.9 = 17.1 degrees.
