square = 8×8=64

rectangles =11×8=88 88×4=352

triangles=8×8=64÷2=32×4=128

64+352+128=544cm²

Answer:

The surface area of the figure = 544 cm²

Explanation:

From the figure we can see that a cuboid and square pyramid

Total surface area = (Area of cuboid + Area of pyramid)

To find the area of cuboid

Area of cuboid = base area + area of 4 lateral face

Base area = side * side = 8 * 8 = 64 cm²

Area of 4 lateral face = 4 *(area of one rectangle) = 4 *(11*8) = 352 cm²

Area of cuboid = 64 + 352 = 416 cm²

To find the area of square pyramid

Slant height of pyramid = 8 cm

Base = 8 cm

Area of pyramid = 4 *(area of one triangle face) = 4(8*8/2) = 128 cm²

To find the total surface area

Total surface area = (Area of cuboid + Area of pyramid)

= 416 + 128 = 544

Therefore the surface area of the figure = 544 cm²
