Answer:

a. 2 b. 12 c. 36 d. 19

James makes $1,250.

a. (2+8)+9 b. (3+7)+5+4 c. (4+16)+2 d. (31+9)+4

Explanation:

You basically follow PEMDAS for the first section. You would do the subtraction inside the parenthesis first and then you will subtract left to right as you go.

You will add up all of the things he has on his budget to find out how much he earns.

I believe that is correct but I am not sure.

Hope it helps! (:

Answer:

A.2 B.12 C.36 D.19

James earns $1250 a month

A.9+(8+2) B.5+4+(3+7) C.2+(16+4) D. 4+(31+9)

Explanation:

In order to calculate that you just have to do the math operations in the prenthesis first and then do the math form left to right:

a. 14 – 7 – 5=14-12=2

b. (35 – 20) – 3=15-3=12

c. 45 – (23 – 14)=45-9=36

d. 56 – 32 – 5=56-37=19

Second one

To calculate how mow does James earns you just have to add all of his budget:

$300+$175+$125+$200+$250+50+$25+$125=$1250

Third one

To do this you just have to find the number that add up to ten or multiples of ten, in the first one you have 8+2=10, in the second you have 7+3=10, in the third one you have 4+16=20 which is a multiple of 10, and in the last one you have 31+9=40 wich is also a multiple of 10.
