The IR Mauritania is a country located in the western part of the Sahara desert. The country lacks in natural resources, be it minerals, oil and natural gas, fertile soil, water. This has resulted in the a very bad economic state of the country, as it doesn't have anything in particular to offer for trade, but on the other side, it has to import a lot of things.

This kind of circumstances have made the country totally dependent on its neighbors and the other countries with which it trades, thus they have big influence of this country as it is not capable to sustain itself without their help.

Most of the people lie in poverty, they do not have access to lot of institutions, the infrastructure is terrible, education very low and limited, and the malnutrition is a regular occurrence.

This also has to be attributed to a the terrible politics of the leaders of the nations. With the amount of territory that IR Mauritania has and the amount of empty territory and sun hours, Mauritania can cover most of its territory with solar panels, produce a lot of electric energy, both for its own needs, and for export in the neighboring countries, thus making a lot of profit, but that advantage doesn't seem to be anywhere near to be used at all.
