He joined Mazzini and the revolutionary secret society, Young Italy in 1833. They plotted to overthrow the king of Sardinia and failed, and he fled to South America. The answer is Giuseppe Garibaldi. He was most known as an Italian military and politician and together with the King of Sardinia Victor Emmanuel II, he was one of the main leaders and architects of the unification of Italy.
