You're purchasing the meat of a two-year-old sheep from the butcher. Your chef says this meat is lamb. The butcher says the meat is referred to as mutton. Who is correct?

If a sheep is at least two years old, the meat would be referred to as mutton. Lamb is the term used for sheep younger than two years of age.
