Finding new routes to places would allow for faster trading. This had a few advantages. The less time voyage took, the less expensive it was. It also meant a quicker turn around, and less spoilage of certain goods

ANSWER:

  • Exploration helped the countries to find new lands and new shipping and trading routes to further increase their global dominance over trade and commerce. Hence exploration was a major goal for the governments.

Step-by-step explanation:

  • During the 15th century, various countries and governments started exploring new lands and trading routes to grow their commercial business.
  • The British Empire, Spain, and Portugal began navigating and exploring across the world through the oceans and the government would pay these navigators to explore and discover new lands.
  • It was a challenge among the countries and their governments on who would find the best route for trading.
  • This marked a new age for navigating on the oceans and various new technologies such as the compass were invented during the age of exploration.
  • North America, India, Australia, and other notable countries were discovered as a new land by the navigators during this period.
