Multiply 1/4 times the total area to find the amount used for peas.

10 2/3 * 1/4

Change the mixed number to an improper fraction.

(3*10+2)/3 * 1/4

32/3 * 1/4

8/3

Change this back to a mixed number. 3 goes into 8 2 times with 2 left over.

2 2/3 ft^2

This is how much is used for the peas.
