A force of 13 N is applied to the handle of a screwdriver being used to pry off the lid of a

paint can. As the input force moves through a distance of 0.25 m, the screwdriver does 2
J of work on the lid. What is the efficiency of the screwdriver? Show your work.

Answer;

Efficiency = 61.54%

Step-by-step explanation;

Efficiency is given by the Formula;

Efficiency = work output/work input × 100%

Work input = Input force × distance moved by the input force

= 13 N × 0,25

= 3.25 Joules

Work output or work done by the screwdriver is 2 Joules

Therefore;

Efficiency = 2/3.25 ×100%

= 61.54%
