Answer:

Choice B is the answer.

Explanation:

We have given the volume of a cylinder.

V_(cylinder) = 36cm^(3)

We have to find the volume of cone.

The formula to find volume of cylinder is :

V_(cylinder)=\pi r^(2)h eq(1)

The formula for volume of cone is :

V_(cone) =(1)/(3)\pi r^(2) h eq(2)

Hence , Combining eq(1) and eq(2) , we have

V_(cone) =(1)/(3) V_(cylinder)

Putting values in above formula, we have

V_(cone) =(1)/(3) (156)

V_(cone)=52 cm³ which is the answer.

Answer: SECOND OPTION (52 cm³)

Explanation:

The formula for calculate the volume of a cone is:

V{co}=(1)/(3)r^(2)h\pi

Where r is the radius and h is the height.

The formula for calculate the volume of a cylinder is:

V{cy}=r^(2)h\pi

Where r is the radius and h is the height.

As you can see, the difference between the the formulas is that r²hπ of the cone is divided by 3. Therefore, if you know the volume of the cylinder and you know that the cone has the same base and height as the cylinder, you have to divide the volume of the cylinder by 3 to obtain the volume of the cone.

Therefore, the result is:

V{co}=(156cm^3)/(3)=52cm^3
