Explanation;

  • Cellular respiration is the process by which organisms break down nutrients to yield energy in the form of ATP required to carry out day to day activities.
  • It occurs in three phases, which includes; glycolysis, Kreb's cycle and electron transport chain. The process produces 38 ATP molecules per every glucose molecule oxidized.
  • Out of the 38 ATP molecules generated during cellular respiration, 2 ATP come from glycolysis, 2 ATP from the Krebs cycle, and about 34 ATP from the electron transport system.
