For this case we must make a conversion.

If we have to:

1 gallon = 4 quarts

We make a rule of three:

1g --------------> 4q

2.6g -----------> x

Where "x" represents quarts equivalent to 2.6 gallons.

x = \frac {2.6 * 4} {1}\\x = 10.4

So, we have 10.4 quarts.

Answer:

We must multiply by 4 and obtain 10.4 quarts.
