Put brackets equal 0

(2x + 1) (x - 1) = 0

(2x + 1) = 0

-1, then ÷2

x = - 1/2 or - 0.5

(x - 1) = 0

+1

x = 1

So, x = - 0.5 & x = 1

Hope this helps!

Answer:

x = -0.5

x = 1

Explanation:

Hello!

We can set each factor to 0 and solve for x in both.

  1. (2x + 1) = 0
    2x = -1
    x = -0.5
  2. (x - 1) = 0
    x = 1

There are 2 solutions for x, -0.5 and 1.
