X= root 6^2 + 10^2

X=2 root 34

So, x is 11.66 to 2d.p

(root means square root)

Hope this helps!

Answer:

x = 11.66

Explanation:

Hello!

We can use the Pythagorean theorem to solve for the hypotenuse.

Pythagorean Theorem:
a^2 + b^2 = c^2

  • a = leg
  • b = leg
  • c = hypotenuse

Plug the values of 6 and 10 into the formula to solve.

Find the Hypotenuse

  • a^2 + b^2 = c^2

  • 6^2 + 10^2 = c^2

  • 36 +100 = c^2

  • 136 = c^2

  • c = \sqrt{136

  • c \approx 11.66

The hypotenuse is approximately 11.66.
