The graph representing the piecewise function is attached

What is piecewise function

A piecewise function is a function that is defined by several sub-functions each corresponding to a specific interval or set of conditions.

Instead of expressing the entire function with one formula, a piecewise function is defined differently on different parts of its domain.

To represent the function, it is important to note that

  • open circles are used when "equal to" sign is not in the equation
  • closed circles are used when :equal to sign is in the equation
  • Less than points to the left
  • Greater that points to the right

These knowledge helped us to choose the attached graph

Answer:

See attached picture.

Explanation:

h(x) has two functions in it. It has y = x and y =-x. Both have a slope of 1 or -1 and are diagonal lines. This means only 2 graphs of the four choices are possible answers.

Notice that y = -x has an interval that is greater than or equal to. This means it is marked with a closed or filled in dot at its start. This means choice B is the correct choice.
