Can Neon form any compounds? PLEASE do NOT answer just for the points and do NOT post an answer copied off from a website.

okay compound of neon is very hard to get and find so yes it exsits but as everybody heard

Answer;

Neon cannot form compounds.

Explanation;

  • Neon is an element in group VIII of the periodic table. Elements in this group have a stable configuration and thus tend to be unreactive.
  • Neon being a member of group VIII has a stable configuration or what we call octet configuration, and thus can not gain or loose electrons and thus can not react with other elements to form compounds.
  • Elements in Group VII include, Argon, Helium, neon, etc, they are inert and unreactive and therefore can not react with other elements to form compounds.
