Niko wants to buy a bicycle that costs $145. He has already saved $25. He says that he can determine the amount he still needs to save by using

the equation b– 25 = 145. Determine the error in Niko’s thinking and write the correct equation that Niko can use to determine how much he still needs to save.

Please help me with this!

Answer:

He is incorrect because if you're going to find out how much he needs, you need to subtract the total by what he already has. So, the answer will be

145-25=b. (but if you want to know the answer to b, it's 145-25=120, so he needs to save up 120 more dollars.) Let me know if this helped!! Good luck.
