Write a second paragraph that explains whether you think the federal government should be allowed to use credit. Remember, people debate this topic often, so there is no clear right or wrong answer. The important thing is to support your claim with facts from the lesson. Include at least three reasons for your opinion.

Regarding the fact that whether or not the federal government should be allowed to use credit, given the information analyzed, it is my opinion that federal government not only should be allowed to use it but such used is already happening and with positive aspects associated. The reasons for such statement are several; first, in reports released by the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) informs that federal agencies processed more than $27 billion in card purchases during the fiscal year 2007. This derived in $433 million in “merchant discount fees”.

Second, the federal government uses credit cards both in receiving payments, IRS tax payments, for instance, as well as buying goods and services using government-issued credit cards. Paying generally lower interchange fees than other merchants.

Finally, the American Bankers Association issued a statement saying federal entities that accept credit and debit cards experience more satisfied customers, guaranteed payment, and fewer losses from bad checks and cash robberies.

In conclusion, bearing the stated before it could be said that the credit system work since it improve operational efficiency, therefore, the federal government should be allowed to benefit as well from it like any other merchant across the country.
