x = y + 10 → (2)

Substitute x = y + 10 in (1)

3(y + 10) + 2y - 5 = 0 ← distribute and simplify left side

3y + 30 + 2y - 5 = 0

5y + 25 = 0 ( subtract 25 from both sides )

5y = - 25 ( divide both sides by 5 )

y = - 5

Substitute y = - 5 in (2) for corresponding value of x

x = - 5 + 10 = 5

Solution is (5, - 5)
