Answer: Choice A) Graph with open circle at -1; shading to the right of the open circle.

Solve for x to get...

-2x + 3 < 5

-2x + 3-3 < 5-3 ... subtract 3 from both sides

-2x < 2

-2x/(-2) > 2/(-2) .... divide both sides by -2; inequality sign flips

x > -1

Note the inequality sign flipped because we divided both sides by a negative number.

The graph will be a number line with an open circle at -1 saying to the reader "do not include this value in the shaded region solution set". The shading is to the right to indicate all of the values larger than -1 (such as 0 or 2 or 10). There are infinitely many values in the solution set.
