Checking your answer: If the length is 2 more than 6, the length is 8 cm. If the width is 5 less than 2*6, it would be 12-5 = 7cm. The length (8cm) x width (7cm) = 56 cm2 so yep, it checks out!
Thus, you can be assured that X=6cm
