Ben plans to sign up for a language class that will cost at least $195. His father gives him $75 and he earns $28 from mowing the lawn for his neighbors. Which inequality represents how much more money he needs to save before taking the class?

x + 75 + 28 ≤ 195
x + 75 + 28 ≥ 195
x - 195 ≤ 75
x - 75 - 28 ≥ 195

Ben would want to make at least $195, so you would want to use the inequality that allows him to have $195 and over. This means that you have two choices:

x+75+28 ≥ 195

x-75-28 ≥ 195

The answer should be x+75+28 ≥ 195, because it's the sum of the money that Ben has received, plus the amount that he still needs in order to have at least $195.
