The three factors in ant colony are:

Food:

The availability of the food is a limiting factor for ants.

Shelter:

For the survival of ants, they need a shelter which is shady and dry. So this is a limiting factor.

Competition:

Competition for the food, shelter and egg lying is a limiting factor for colony growth.
