Answer: Y = 15

Explanation:

First multiply 5 on both sides to get rid of it.


14*5 = (24)/(5*5)


70 = 2y

Divide 2 on both sides.


(70)/(2) = (2y)/(2)


y = 35

Check this by substituting 35 back into the original equation.


14 = (2(35))/(5)


(70)/(5) = 14


14 = 14
