therefore, we can say that 5y - 4 = 180 - 3y

solve for 'y': 5y - 4 = 180 - 3y

8y = 184

y = 23

Substitute to find measure of angle 5y-4: 5(23) - 4 = 111 degrees

Now we know that 2x + 13 has to equal 180 - 111 or 69 degrees

solve for 'x': 2x + 13 = 69

2x = 56

x = 28
