Answer:

Part A. 70 feet, 35 feet

Part B. $735

Explanation:

The blue print of a pool has a scale of 2 inches equals to 7 feet.

The length in blueprint is 20 inches and the width is 10 inches.

Part A.

∵ 2 inches = 7 feet

∵ 1 inch = 7/2 = 3.5 feet

20 inches = 3.5 × 20 = 70 feet

10 inches = 3.5 × 10 = 35 feet

The actual dimensions of the pool Blueprint 10 in. Actual 35 feet, Blueprint: 20 in Actual : 70 feet.

Part B.

To buy a cover for the pool that costs $0.30 per square foot.

Area = Length × width

Area = 70 × 35 = 2,450 feet²

cost per square foot = $0.30

for 2,450 square foot = 2,450 × 0.30 = $735.00

It costs $735 to buy a cover for the pool.

Divide the scaled dimensions by 2, then multiply that by 7:

Length: 20 / 2 = 10. 10*7 = 70 feet.

Width: 10 / 2 = 5. 5 * 7 = 35 feet.

A) The pool is 70 feet long by 35 feet wide.

B) Area is length x width

Area = 70 * 35 = 2,450 square feet.

Cover cost 0.30 per square foot.

Total cost = 2,450 x 0.30 = $735
