Hello from MrBillDoesMath!

Answer:

140, 141

Discussion:

Let the leftmost page number be number "p". The next page is then (p+1).

The questions is what is p if

p + (p+1) = 281 => subtract 1 from both sides

p +p + 1 -1 = 281 -1 => as 1- 1 =0 and p+p = 2p

2p = 280 => divide both sides by 2

p = 280/2

p = 140

So the page numbers are p (140) and p+1 (=141)

Thank you,

MrB

Answer:

Pages: 140, 141

Explanation:

divide 281 by 2

281/2 = 140.5

140 + 141 = 281

therefore your pages are 140 and 141
