Air pollution is harmful and very damaging to your body and system. Respiration most likely might not affect your body. When bad air gets in your lungs it affects your lungs and heart making it harder to breathe properly.

What is alveoli?

Alveoli are the air sacks we have in our lungs, that help us during respiration with gas exchange.

Consequences:

If we damage our alveoli, we'll have serious problems breathing since the gas exchange in our lungs won't be the same, and the concentrations of different gases in our lungs will change, and depending on what those gases are (CO2 is among those gases), we can have serious problems, even cardiovascular ones.

Hope it helped,
