jack wants to buy the same number of hats for 3 of his friends. he has 57 dollars and each hat cost $5. what is the largest number of hats that jack buys for each friend.​

Answer: 3

Explanation:

You know that he has $57 and 3 friends, so first lets figure out how much money each person gets. To do this, we have to take 57 and divide it by 3. 57÷3= 19.

Now that you know that each person gets $19 and you know that each hat costs $5, all you have to do it divide 19 by 5.

19÷5=3.8.

Since you can't have 0.8 of a hat, each person can only get 3 hats.
