Answer:

y = - 0.05x - 1.9

Explanation:

The equation of a line in slope- intercept form is

y = mx + b ( m is the slope and b the y- intercept )

y = 20x ← is in slope- intercept form

with slope m = 20

Given a line with slope m then the slope of a line perpendicular to it is

m_(perpendicular) = -
(1)/(m) = -
(1)/(20) = - 0.05 , thus

y = - 0.05x + b ← is the partial equation

To find b substitute (2, - 2) into the partial equation

- 2 = - 0.1 + b ⇒ b = - 2 + 0.1 = - 1.9

y = - 0.05x - 1.9 ← equation of perpendicular line
